Buenos Aires, December 1 (NA) – National Deputy Silvia Lospennato (PRO) confirmed today that she will assume her position as a Buenos Aires city legislator in the coming days, the office for which she was elected in last May's elections. She stated that she is leaving Congress because 'one must honor the promise made to voters.' 'The idea of keeping one's word seems to be the exception today, but Mauricio Macri and Jorge Macri, who pushed for my candidacy, and I analyzed it and concluded that this best represents PRO and our values: to honor our word,' affirmed the current deputy. According to information from the Argentine News Agency (NA), Lospennato's decision is viewed by the PRO leadership as 'a signal' to every voter in Buenos Aires. 'Those who voted for me did so, among other things, for my values, and in life, one must be consistent,' she emphasized. 'Many tell me that people don't care if your role is merely symbolic, but it matters to me, and it also matters to PRO voters,' she explained in an interview with Radio Mitre when justifying her resignation from her deputy seat, for which she still had two years left in her term. Lospennato, who headed the PRO candidate list in last May's city elections, also questioned the move of some PRO legislators to the La Libertad Avanza bloc: 'People vote for parties, and one way to honor voters is to remain in the same position until the term ends,' she stressed.
